Between architectural and artistic design: an organic space where nothing is left to chance
Over the years, the deep participation of visitors in the experience of the Sabina Olive Oil Museum in Castelnuovo di Farfa has generated a demand for an additional space to be dedicated to meetings and art education, activities that were developed in the Museum starting with Maria Lai's art games.
The Casa dell'Oca was created with this objective and this unique functional programme. The building owes its name to the mosaic of the Game of the Flight of the Goose, a work by Maria Lai, placed on the floor of the hall on the first floor of the building.
The ground floor houses the Museum's new ticket office. On the ceiling, between the two floors, a glass hole visually connects the spaces of the building. In the hole, a skylight covered in gold leaf reverberates and multiplies natural light.
